AMAZON.COM ADOPTS PINGTEL’S ENTERPRISE COMMUNICATIONS SERVER FOR WORLDWIDE VOIP DEPLOYMENT

WOBURN, MA., OCTOBER 6, 2006 — Pingtel Corp., the leading provider of SIP-based Enterprise Communications Systems (ECS) today announced that Amazon.com has selected Pingtel’s SIPxchange™ ECS for enterprise deployment. Beginning with an initial deployment at its Seattle headquarters last year, ECS will now become a core element in Amazon’s worldwide program to deploy cost effective, SIP-based VoIP systems supporting thousands of users. Amazon selected Pingtel’s award-winning ECS for its highly-scalable SIP architecture, combined with high availability and robust feature set that delivers both today’s VoIP/PBX features and tomorrow’s real-time communication services.

Pingtel’s SIPxchange ECS is the first solution built from the ground up to handle realtime communications – voice, video, presence and mobility – delivering a true enterprise convergence platform. Created in open source and built entirely around standard SIP, ECS provides enterprise customers with the ideal combination of functionality and value. In addition to a full suite of enterprise PBX features, SIPxchange ECS includes call center/ACD functionality, a built-in presence server, and the ability to function as a network VoIP router. It allows customers to deploy their preferred IP phones from different vendors while providing centralized plug & play management for all phones and gateways including generation and backup of all configuration information. SIPxchange ECS is typically deployed for about 50% less than voice-only IP PBXs.
