Print Servers

  A print server allows multiple computers in a network to share a single printer or multiple printers. Without a print server, each printer needs to be connected directly to a computer to share it across the network. The drawback is that the computer connected to the printer must be switched on to share the printer. With a print server any computer can access any printer at any time.

Edimax provides two types of printer servers: the standard USB print server and a wireless print server. A wireless print server has all the functionality of the USB print server with the additional benefit of allowing users with a wireless connection to access the print server wirelessly. This feature is especially useful for users with wireless network enabled laptops.
