SUNNYVALE, CA (April 26, 2007) - Actiontec Electronics announced today that its VoSKY Exchange 9140 and 9180 VoIP gateways have won a "Best of Show" Award at Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC®)'s INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference and EXPO East 2007. TMC reports that the conference was attended by over 7,000 people at the Ft. Lauderdale/Broward Convention Center in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
The VoSKY Exchange family of Skype-certified gateways enables businesses to dramatically lower telecommunications costs by adding inbound and outbound Skype lines to the office TDM or IP PBX phone system without changes to existing PBX or phone equipment, while also centralizing Skype provisioning and management. Skype is the world’s largest VoIP network, offering free domestic and international long-distance calls between Skype users and rates as low as 2 cents per minute for calls to non-Skype users anywhere in the world.
A single Exchange device Skype-enables every phone extension in the office so that users can make and receive Skype calls without a PC and headset. Multiple Exchange boxes can be set up in company sites in different cities to form a virtual PBX that enables free interoffice calling with easy global numbering between offices. In addition, remote business users can access office Skype lines from any landline or mobile phone through a special access code, and free Web Click-to-Call can be used to reduce inbound 800 calls initiated from the company website.
